ELECTIVE MATH III - TRIGONOMETRY



To all 3rd year students,

Prior to the incident, we have scheduled board work (review), graded seatwork and quiz. Below are sample questions for you to review. It is not graded but it will help somehow help you especially for those who until now still have questions regarding our lessons.

Exercises
1. Solve for the unknown parts of the triangle.

 

2. A fireman wants to save a girl on the second floor out of the burning building from the window. The window is about 5m above the ground. The fireman’s ladder is 7m long. Find the measure of the angle made by the ladder from the ground if the ladder hits the bottom part of the window? (Express your answer in nearest degree) **constructing an illustration of the given problem will help


3. Jaime is standing from a top of a hill when she saw Bruno is approaching him. The horizontal distance between them is 30m. Find the height of the hill if the angle of depression made by Jaime is 50°.

4. A plane leaves the port 750km due east. It then travels 250km south. What is the plane’s bearing form the port? How far is the plane from the port? (round off your answer to one decimal place)

5. Find the distance between the points (0, -1) and (7, 4)

6. What is the midpoint of line joining the points (-3, 4) and (8, 4)?
